The Story

Akera started its activity more than 15 years ago, in January 2008. It was born from the union of professionals who had already gained experience in different areas of of IT, people who, after a university course, had worked for years in large retail large retail, web portals and telecommunications companies. The partners were united by a passion for Open-Source and an interest in the possibilities offered by the web (remoteisation, online services, etc.).

The name ‘Akera’ (akèra) originates from the sound of a Japanese word 開ける (akèru) meaning ‘open’ and from the assonance with the Italianised English verb ‘to hack’, obviously in its positive sense: ‘àkera’, i.e. to go deep into information technology in order to understand how it works and to master it.
